Police in Bushenyi district are holding the head teacher of Kakoni primary school Charles Bomukama and the Richard Ntundubire, chairman of the School Management Committee for misappropriating school funds.

Bushenyi District Production Coordinator David Bainomugisha says that the two were arrested on the orders of his office after failing to put the money to the intended purpose. They are held at Bushenyi Central Police Station.

The two school administrators reportedly failed to account for 3.3 million Shillings meant for the project.

The funds were received under Uganda Multisectoral Food Security and Nutrition Project, a World Bank funded initiative aimed at linking agriculture, nutrition, health and education through school-based demonstration gardens and nutrition education.
