Ezekiel Okengo, an MP aspirant for South Mugirango has died in a Kisii hospital just days to elections.
The KANU parliamentary aspirant died Saturday morning at Tabaka Mission Hospital in Kisii where he was admitted two weeks ago.
The late Okengo contested for the South Mugirango seat as NARC Kenya FLAG bearer in
2013, took part in 2010 by-election before re-appearing in this years race on KANU ticket
His son Buddy Moturi confirmed his fathers death to media saying: “We are saddened by the loss of our father. He has been sick for almost one month,” Moturi said.
“It is a sad moment for the party and the people of South Mugirango. He was among the strong party members and a dedicated aspirant,” Raburi a KANU party leader in the area told Kenya’s press satrday.
