The Court of Appeal has  declared the Kaabong  distirct woman MP seat as vacant after nullifying the election of inccumbet Christine Tubo Nakwang.

This after the court upheld the decision of Soroti High court judge Billy Kainamura which nullified the election of Tubo on grounds that she bribed her  way to parliament with money and alcohol.

Justices Kenneth Kakuru, Alfonse Owiny Dollo and Richard Buteera have concurred with justice  Kainamura and ruled that he properly evaluated the evidence on bribery allegations and therefore reached at a fair conclusion that the EC should conduct a by-election to fill the vacant position.

The petitioner Lily Rose Akello accused  Tubo of bribing voters of  Kathile Trading Centre, Kathile West, Namamutau and Nikwapicha villages on the eve of the 18/February/2016 polls.

The Justices have now dismissed Tubo’s appeal with costs and ordered the Electoral Commission conducts fresh elections.
