According to watchdog reports Uganda has just decided to stop getting electricity from Rwanda for its border district of Kisoro and get connected to main power grid.

While presenting a paper before the district council on Monday, Naboth Aine, Umeme’s Kisoro district engineer, said plans were underway to connect Kisoro to the national grid from Jinja

Kisoro town Residents have routinely complained about cost and unreliability of imported power from Rwanda which affects especially locals in cottage industries.

Aine said Kisoro will be connected to the national grid through Kabale.
