The Uganda electoral commission is to rollout an election calendar for the much anticipated Local council one elections next week.
The Chairman of Uganda’s electoral body His Lordship Byamukama has told the SpearNews that his commission has secured the 15.6 billion needed to conduct elections in 70,000 villages and after at all parishes.
Uganda last had village and Parish elections in 2001 under the movement system. Since then the country has been in breach of the constitution which provides elections for the said councils must be elected every after five years.
