- Youth collect signatures to trigger a vote of no confidence in Abiriga
- The group has collected 635 signatures in 2days
A group of disgruntled electorates of Arua Municipality have vowed to move a vote of no confidence against their MP Ibrahim Abiriga whom they accuse of ashaming and misrepresenting them.
While addressing a press conference at Pacific hotel in Arua, Wednesday the group
comprising of mostly youths accused the MP of deserting and misrepresenting Arua Municipality by advocating for lifting the age limit for the President they never sent him for.
Mercy Monica, one of the group leaders, said Abiriga has failed in his responsibility as the area MP
Lemeriga Fadhil a member of the same group said Abiriga is not the right person to represent Arua.
However efforts by the Spear News to get Abiriga’s comment on this were futile as his known telephone contact was switched off.
So far the youths have collected 635 signatures and they have vowed to collect more as required by the law.
Arua voters Commented thus on the incident:
Henry Kwoba Mangeni Chase abiriga from arua municipality, if not we are looking for his residence here in Kampala.
Sussie Higenyi If he comes near me i will susu on him
Has-him Bruce Please do and make updates louder, i hear on Friday he got an energetic slap from a young boy at the parliament, I like the way Kampala treats him. Keep the likes of Simeo in the check too.
Has-him Bruce Do it harder, we have began impeachment process
Its really perceived well and we hope to do much better to speed up the collection of signatures, though declined to pick the calls of the media, we are happy you have him pressured up. He must desist from ill intended campaigns and do what is needful to the community of Arua Municipality
Augustine Ojobile Abiriga deserves the bush, who ever doubts needs to join him.
Lemeriga Fadhil as I sit furthest in a white t-shirt, the end to raping the constitution of Uganda is the ultimate aim.
We shall prevail
