Mukama Mbidde the DP vice chairman has today morning been taken to CPS following a planned demonstration at the constitutional Square in Kampala

Police early in the day sealed off the area stop Democratic Party (DP) members from accessing the grounds.

There has been an ongoing mobilization from a section of DP leaders in the city calling upon members and Ugandans to march to the square today in protest over amending article 102(b) to allow president Museveni stand in 2021.

Police also sealed off the party headquarters a few meters away at city house where they had scuffles with City house workers.

Some party supporters and vice president Mukasa Mbidde were picked as they held a pre-press conference and taken to CPS where police is yet to state the charges to be placed against them.

Last month Democratic Party, launched a campaign dubbed ‘Togikwaatako’ (Don’t dare touch it) to fight amending article 102(b).
