Rwanda is today holding formal elections to pick a president among three candidates. Yesterday Rwandans from across the globe cast their votes from their embassies

The incumbent Paul Kagame of the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF), Is followed by two contenders.

Frank Habineza of the Democratic Green Party and Philippe Mpanyimana, an independent candidate.

It is Rwanda’s third elections after the 1994 genocide.

Kagame won the previous  (2003, 2010) elections by over 95%, a percentage also expected in today’s election
